As it seen in the post on “The Worldview of Unbelievers”, I had begun to includingly address and respond to also the anti-God/Bible/Christianity claims made by people at The Young Turks Network but is soon became self-evident that they claims were patently disingenuous, and mainly by being/remaining deliberately idiotic about what the Bible actually says, and so responding to them only became a time consuming exercise in “whack-a-moron”. So I instead jotted responses to them in a separate offline document, which also didn’t have to involve the referencing of what they had said (i.e. links to the (Youtube) clips where they make their stupid claims. The following post is an online “dump” of that private document because at some time, you do have to show “fools” how foolish they are...

            Foremost and first of all, all of what is going to be said next depends on a belief in “the Word of God” --that is both the written Word (2 Tim 3:16) and, and as understood through, the Incarnated/Demonstrated Word (John 1:1-5). A perfect anchor stone to having such a belief in both the Bible and Jesus Christ is found in the Biblically, fully Messianically interpreted/understood prophecy of Daniel’s 70 Weeks. (See here).

            With that properly and fully done first, the following Gospel Imperatives should be most clearly and sequiturly discerned. And all that Jesus has taught and instructed is for the very best of the believer (John 10:10; cf. 1 John 4:15-5:5)...and Jesus guarantees it. (Luke 21:33)

The Biblical Prophetic Babylon & Loud Cry (Jer 51 | Rev 17 & 18)

            When one endeavors to study the prophetic topic of Revelation’s Babylon beyond what is commonly, truncatedly, presented and emphasized in SDA circles, namely Rev 17:1-9 & 18:1-8, it is transparently easy to see that much more than a religious aspect of Revelation’s Babylon is being taken issue with by God. This wider study involves, obviously, also studying the rest of Rev 17 & 18, (thus Rev 17:10-18 & 18:9-24). However a commonly neglected contributor to this study is the Old Testament background from which Revelation’s Babylon is drawn from.[1] As many, almost verbatim, quotations and allusions show, that, pointedly in the prophecy in Jer 51, God spoke of the vengeance that He would be taking upon His actually previously summoned king and kingdom of Babylon. Before the full and further prophetic issues in Rev 17 & 18 are discussed, and indeed in order to first have the proper Biblical background for that prophecy, the circumstances and (Theological) issues involved in the Jer 51 judgement of God need to be properly and fully understood.

Important Reference: The exegetical verse-by-verse commentary of (mainly) Ezek 1 & 10, (-as well as Spirit of Prophecy statements), which underlie the conclusions and applications posted here are presented in detail in this supporting post.

            The mention of the Four, -frankly freaky, Living Creatures in, especially, continuingly in a New Testament context and in direct association with God’s Throne in e.g., Rev 4:6b-11 can lead one to candidly ask: “What is going on here?” To think of God’s Throne as involving animals, namely: a Lion, Ox, and Eagle, and also Man, -animals/creatures which are indeed objects of various form of worship and reverence (as it can be seen today in the emblem and insignias of world countries and seats of government), along with the idolatrous (humanistic) self-worship of man by man, feels like all of this in association with the Throne of God borders on the sacrilegious/blasphemous, or at least a -endorsement/validation of the various forms of paganistic idolatry of men. One would expect such association with adversarial entities towards/against God, as patently seen elsewhere in the prophecies of especially Daniel and Revelation. However these are here deliberately, explicitly, and most prominently, associated with the Throne of God. Well, it happens, that, as with anything else that is mentioned in Bible prophecy, the key to understanding what is being communicated here lies in Biblically interpreting the symbols.

            From just what I have learned in the past week or so after having stumbled upon a Youtube video on Gun Control (this one) which made a reference to the incident in Waco, TX involving the David Koresh and the (Davidian) Branch Davidians, much can be written up here on how, to my surprise, as it has been for many who have come across this factual information, the Assault and Siege on the Waco Compound was completely unnecessary, and the end result on April 19, 1993 was not “an engineered mass suicide by fire of Koresh and the 80+ people who were there”, but, at the very least, “accidentally” caused by FBI unprofessionalism and (spiteful) exaggerations. There is ample documentation of this available on the internet and a simple, e.g., Google and Youtube search including combinations of key terms such as “Waco”; “Tragedy|Massacre|Assault|Siege”; “Congressional Hearings”; “David Koresh/Vernon Howell”; “Branch Davidians”; etc.  will reveal much information.             A recent comment in this blog post literally started to make my cup overflow in regards to the various ongoing temporal and spiritual dealings with various people, including this Theological Views blog and its related NJK Project. Reading the Scriptural context in which Jesus Christ rebukedly used the self-proscribed (Matt 5:22[1]) term “moron” (Greek moros [Strongs #3474]) in Matt 23:16-17, and also the way that it is used in the OT Septuagint (LXX), is quite determinative as to its true characterizing meaning, as seen here:

As the saying goes: ‘those who do not learn the lessons of history are bound to repeat its mistakes’, and as partly presented in this related post, the state of our present world today is, pun intended, “rooted” in the course of history. And so, to properly understand today’s world and its various “flashpoints” to try to resolve them, it is important to delve into pertinent history. And the very best way to do this is through the lens of Theological glasses, for ultimately, it is God who is overseeing those developments and no matter how erratic they may get, His long ago perfectly wise plans will come to the Triumphant end that He had always planned. So just to be sure to be on the ‘right side of past, and also future history’, having the correct understanding of world history is indeed fundamentally key to, particularly the believer today. And so the following various succinct, (not-actually-chronologically) growing, commentary on various significant, (at least to me), historical events and/or ensuing developments.[1]

God’s Original, and “Very Good”, Intent (Gen 2:18; 1:31a)

             In the course of this discussion about Ernie Knoll, the spurious claim was made here that in a then just released new study entitled “Dress for Today” [1]: ‘Knoll was moving towards a ‘lewdness/nudity’ direction by advocating, out of an (assumed to be canard) health concern, that women should not wear bras (pp. 4-8) or underwear (p. 9)’. However, as I pointed out in response here, that study is actually quite reliably and historically documented, including from valid counsel from the SOP. It indeed does not take much scientific knowledge to perceive that the various constant containment and/or artificial shaping “stresses” from both female and male undergarments can have adverse effects.[2] I personally have not seen a valid reason to disagree with the health concerns/reasons cited with the statement that, especially modern undergarments, are/can be detrimental to one’s health, -and really, the counsel to ‘not wear them as much as possible’, is only controversial today, as compared to, e.g., the pre-1863 days of EGW when that was the norm, because of how the “final layer” of dress has today become quite scanty, sheer and/or “fringed”...when not outrightly “lacunistic”. However, while I don’t disagree there, I actually disagree with a concluding opining claim made in that study, which I have variously heard echoed by others, including SDA’s, indeed along the following lines:

A Religious View

            Following a local commotion in the province of Quebec following a request of a Muslim group to have their meals at a public Sugar Shack specially prepared in accordance to Muslim religious dietary requirements and the clearing of the main floor for prayers, the question of ‘what was a “reasonable accommodation” in regards to religious groups’ became a vigorously debated topic for a while. In fact, during these times, a special 30-minute “Second Look” documentary was aired on this issue in which (Quebec) Seventh-day Adventists and the Sabbath work accommodations granted to them took up half of it.[1]
